Hi everyone! This is my blog so that you can follow my amazing experiences for the next 5 months. I'm going to try to write on here as often as I can so that I don't have to re-type the same paragraphs in everyone's personal emails. I really liked using a blog with Liv and I went to Costa Rica and Panama, so hopefully I'll be able to keep it up this time. (But of course, email me all the time! I will be dying to hear from all of you!!! It's lauren.a.bates@vanderbilt.edu)
As most of you already know (because I've gotten goodbye phone calls today from almost every single person in my life) tomorrow night at 9pm I'm off to Buenos Aires!! I'm so excited and nervous I probably won't be able to sleep at all tonight!
In Buenos Aires I will be living with a single woman named Ivonne. She's in her fifties and she's an artist. (And those small details make me think she's going to be amazing!!! I hope I'm right!) She has an apartment in Belgrano right near Universidad de Belgrano, where I'll be taking classes. I'll be in Buenos Aires until March 28th, and then I venture to Lima, Peru where I'll be living until the end of May. I better be fluent by the time I get back! (Some of these posts may be in Spanish, so....for those of you who can't understand Spanish, tough luck ;). )
